About QuitSmokeApp
Our Mission
QuitSmokeApp exists for one purpose: to help people quit smoking and stay quit. We believe that access to clear, accurate, evidence-based information - combined with practical tools that make progress visible - is one of the most powerful things we can offer someone on their quit journey.
Smoking is the leading preventable cause of death worldwide, responsible for more than 8 million deaths every year according to the World Health Organization. Yet quitting is genuinely hard. Our tools are designed to make it a little easier - by showing you the real health changes happening inside your body, the money piling up in your pocket, and the milestones you are achieving every day.
How It Works
QuitSmokeApp is a free, browser-based quit smoking tracker. There is nothing to install and no account required. Simply enter your quit date, how many cigarettes you smoked per day, and the price per pack - and we do the rest.
The Quit Tracker
Our real-time counter shows exactly how long you have been smoke-free, down to the second. Alongside the timer, you can see how much money you have saved, how many cigarettes you have not smoked, and how much life you have regained - calculated based on the widely cited estimate that each cigarette costs approximately 11 minutes of life expectancy.
Health Milestones
The milestone tracker maps your progress against the medically documented timeline of health recovery after quitting smoking. From 20 minutes after your last cigarette - when your heart rate begins to normalise - through to 15 years, when your risk of coronary heart disease equals that of a non-smoker, each milestone is supported by published medical evidence from the sources listed below.
Calculators
Our suite of calculators lets you explore your personal quit journey in detail: see your total savings, count cigarettes avoided, calculate life regained, and more. All calculations are based on the data you provide and widely accepted medical estimates.

The information provided on QuitSmokeApp is for general educational and informational purposes only. It is not intended as, and does not constitute, medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always seek the advice of your physician or another qualified health provider with any questions you may have regarding smoking cessation or any medical condition.
The health milestones and timelines presented on this site represent population-level averages based on published medical research. Individual results will vary depending on factors including the duration and intensity of smoking, overall health status, age, and other personal factors. Quitting smoking may cause withdrawal symptoms - if you experience severe symptoms, please consult a healthcare professional.
Nicotine replacement therapy, prescription medications (such as varenicline or bupropion), and behavioural support programmes have all been shown in clinical trials to improve quit success rates. We encourage you to speak with your doctor about the options available to you.
